Remember the good old days where are grandparents loaded there own and use pennies instead of buck shot?
I used to load them with dimes. Not real good for the barrels but utterly devastating to the targets.

There's no standard on how much shotgun shells should weigh, or how much the shot load should weigh.
Each type of shell depends on what the manufacturer loaded it with.
Usually the weight of the shot or slug is listed on the box.
The KSG can shoot any commercially available shotgun shells in bird shot, buckshot, or slugs up to the 3 inch Magnum types and down to the 1 3/4 inch Mini-shells.

Likewise, for the same reasons. My go-to HD ammo for my KSG is Federal Tactical Flite Control #1 Buck, which has been discontinued unfortunately (I bought a bunch). I'm convinced the #1 Buck is the right combination of pellet size and number of pellets. Really like the reduced recoil Federal Tactical as well.
The OP mentioned 10 yards being the max, which makes sense unless you live in a huge, fairly open mansion. I've posted these before, but I'll post again my pattern testing of my KSG with my chosen ammo. It's pretty eye-opening.

good, i live in Georgia (the country) and now there are some rumors that government is trying to prohibit lead shells for water-hunting birds like duck and etc. So in Europe it is prohibited lead for the birds like ducks or guess. Georgia is flourished with Turkish made shot-guns due to theblower price and some shotguns imported from Turkey are unable to consume steel shells... this is another hadeache for my firends. thanks KSG i will sleep well after ! 🤟♥🇬🇪Like virtually all modern shotguns, the Kel-Tec barrels are made to allow use of steel shot.
Any shotgun can shoot lead buckshot, birdshot, and standard slugs in a barrel with up to a Full choke.
Older shotguns made prior to the 1980's were not suitable for steel shot since the softer steel barrel would be quickly damaged.
After steel shot was mandated in the USA for waterfowl hunting, shotgun barrels began to be made from harder steel to resist the abrasion.
So, you can shoot virtually any commercially available shotgun ammo in a Kel-Tec.
