I have had my KSG for over a year now for the the most part it has been a fun "toy". I keep trying to get it right and want to trust it for a HD gun but as of now It is a last resort.

My first problem which I solved thanks to reading through theses forums was the mag selector which I replaced with Carolina Metal Masters mag selector and that was a great upgrade never have to worry about tightening the allen screw again.

All was well for about 300-400 rounds then now I am experiencing FTE's from both tubes with unfired shells and during actual fire about 3 times every 15 rounds. (the fired shell remains in the chamber or doesn't come out fast enough and get out the way for the next round)) After I clear the jam by removing the unfired shell the spent shell ejects and the next shell feeds and I am on my way for hopefully another 3 or 4 rounds sometimes it will jam the same way after the next round.

I have polished the chamber pretty well a good 1/2 hour with steel wool 15min 00 and 15min 0000 steel wool on a bore brush. I never had this issue before with the first 500-600rds Ive put thought it so I'm inclined to think that is not the issue but I know it couldn't hurt. It definitely smoothed up the action.

I'm using Federal LE 00 reduced recoil 2 3/4 (high brass). This ammo has ran wonderfully for me in the past (500 rds) and I am very inclined to do any work necessary to get this KSG to be a trustwothy gun I hope it's not a lost cause.

Please don't tell me shuck like you mean it. I am very aware. Thanks in advance for any replies.

For what it's worth, my chamber would not "clean up" enough with the steel wool procedure - I bought a 400 and 800 grit hone and kept stuck shells as "go" gauges. Took several trips to the range, but finally got it sized to where everything cycles like butta.
The fact that this is happening now after 400 rounds is odd - I would take it down and inspect everything - especially the bolt action.

That's what I was thinking as well "odd" The chamber wouldn't all the sudden get rough but I thought It could be some baked on carbon or something.

I had my KSG in the safe for about 6 mos. It was running great the last few times before. I was reading another thread on here and I have a feeling I wasn't getting that last 1/4 inch on the forward stroke (haha that's what she said)

After taking the grip off and and seeing how things work when it cycles I see what I may have been doing wrong. I was dumping 15 rounds quite fast and I think when I had the FTE's The shells were coming out the tube before the spent one could eject (not getting stuck in the chamber)

I've had this thing apart at least 20 times don't know why I never thought to take the grip off and see what happens when you cycle it.

I'm assuming me not training with for 5 or 6 months I kinda forgot the technique. I was shucking it hard just not consciously making sure I got it all the way forward. I didn't think that was majorly important I know shucking it towards you is. Now I know foward and backward all the way. I hope that was the issue I'll know next time I go to the range. So far here with unfired shells it seems like I'm GTG.
