Just got CMR back.

So, I just got the CMR back. It was sent in for the replacement of the broken slide lock. I think I got it back quite a bit quicker than the 8 to 10 weeks they said it would take. It was interesting that it was left on my porch on the second attempt to deliver!

My first question is, those that have gotten the new slide stop or lock, is it really loose? Mine is and that does not seem right. And second, in the paper work they say that they polished the feedramp? As far as I can tell, there isn't an actual feedramp to have polished! There appears to be somewhat of a feed ramp ahead of the magazine but it is made of plastic.

Also stated in the paperwork is they replaced internal parts, chamber was serviced, whatever that means and it was test fired. In the notes it states "polished the feed ramp and champer lip serviced, serviced barrel and trunion assembly, inspected grip, frame, top cover and stock.

It will be awhile before I get to test it out. If I don't sell it first.

Finally got to put rounds through the CMR yesterday for the first time sincwe receiving it back from KT. I put 25 rounds of 30 grain CCI Maxi-Mag HP+V, 25 rounds of 30 grain CCI TNT Green, 25 rounds of Hornady 30 grain V-Max, 15 or so rounds of Winchester 40 grain Varmint and Small Game JHP, and 15 or so rounds of Armscor 40 grain JHP. This brings my total of rounds through the gun to about 275 or so since purchase.

All shooting was done after re-attaching the TRS-25 red dot sight that I removed the last time at the range due to suspected inconsistencies. After just remounting the scope, it was shooting about dead on at about 20 yards or so, then would be about 4 inches high at about 50 yards. The dot in the TRS-25 is irregular and seems to lack brightness for real world outdoor shooting.

Most groups were respectable, especially the final group with the Armscorp rounds. I wasn't really trying for accuracy so the groups didn't matter as much as functionality.

In total, I had 4 failures to feed. 3 of those were with 30 gr, ammo and one with the 40 gr. Armscorp ammo. On multiple occasions, these failure to feeds were with one round left in the mag and the slide locked back. Pulling the slide back and releasing did not result in it going back into battery, it remained locked back until I removed the magazine and put it back in.

It seems that two of the failures to feed occured after the first, and weak feeling round was fired.

It was fun to play with but I am still having issues with what the purpose of this particular gun is. Next, I want to put a 4X9 scope on it and give 100 yard shooting a try, once I find a way to mount the scope higher, before I finally decide on the future of this particular gun.

I really know what you mean about the use of the CMR30. I struggle with it to. What is the CMR30 good for.

So lets assume you can get it to function reliable.

What are you going to do with it?
I'm not sure. I may just keep it for fun plinking. I have nearly always regretted selling guns and I would probably regret selling this one. Or, I may buy something else that I actually find use in, like a Sub 2000 which could partner with my Glock 17 and maybe my Glock 19 since I eventually intend on switching from a G23 to a G19 for EDC. Actually, I guess I could sell it to fund the new G19 in the first place.

Or, a Springfield Saint or Ruger AR556. I have wanted an AR for 30 years at least and have yet to buy one. Or, purchase any one or two of all the other guns I can think of wanting. Or just sell the CMR to help fund my RC helicopter obsession. Lots of options.
