Yeah, I just got back from the gunshow. It was kinada slow all weekend. Didn't pick up anything till Sunday afternoon. The guy that had this gun came by selling an old Mauser 98. It must belonged to Hitler himself cause he wanted 6 bills for it. Whatever. I asked if he had anything in his backpack. He said his old carry gun. He pulled out the Hi Point. He had been trying to get 130 for it, but would take 125 now. I advised that the guns worked well, but did not bring much at the show. I offered 80 bucks. He said he already had been offered 90. He started to pack it up. I then waved a nice crispy C note under his nose. He dropped the gun and took the hundred. Worked for me.

Later, he came by with a Rock Island 9 mil. for 450. Told him that was about 150 mor than I would give for a .45 which I wanted. Didn't want the 9 at all. Then he said, "Oh, I forgot. I have an ankle holster and 2 extra mags for the HiPoint." He had given 60 for the stuff and wanted 40. I stuck a 20 under his nose and he took it.

A pic of the Hi Point and the access.

If anyone wants to print my pic, please feel free to do it.

I fired some Fed aluminum case hardball outta the gun Monday. It worked perfectly like all the others I have owned. The gun came with the rear peep sight mounted. It was set all the way down, so the gun shot about 4 inches low at 20 feet. Didn't get the box or the other rear sight, which I would rather have. Gun was like new and hardly fired. Guy said he carried it concealed in the ankle holster. I guess he musta dragged his leg behind him all the time. I couldn't do it.

As you probably already know, Hi Point will send you the rear notch sight for free. They only come with a cardboard box. It includes the ghost ring sight, a manual, the lock, and I think a registration card. The guy probably shot the box for practice, threw away the lock, and lost the manual in the back of his junk drawer. :D

Why do I feel a completely illogical and crazy desire to own a Hi-Point again these days? Either a big honkin' .45 ACP model, or the aforementioned 9mm model? Heck, I even looked at a stinkin' Jimenez Arms JA-Nine ... DOOOOOOD! I'm serious! An actual JA-NINE! ... and I actually thought about bringing the thing home! Why? WHY? WHY????? Morbid curiosity? Masochism? Maybe just a rebellious urge to "prove a point?" (Not sure what the "point" would be to prove, but ... I'm sure there's one there, right? :D ) If not for the fact that I'm looking at working 60-hour work weeks for the next two months straight, I might actually pick one of these boogers up just for the sake of ... I dunno ... angering the collective Internet Keyboard Commando Gods as a whole or something. Load a few mags, fire them on video, and just post the results on my long-neglected YouTube channel as-is, unedited, just ... like ... umm ... y'know ... just BECAUSE. And stuff. Or something. Umm, yeah.

Beer may have had something to do with the above. Or frustration as a whole with the firearms community for gun snobbery in general. Or my own sense of weirdly-assigned guilt. Or all of the above. Or ... well, probably mostly the beer... :p

I'll admit that I kinda want a Hi-point too. I'm just looking for the right excuse to buy one, a truck gun maybe? That way it's not something I'm terribly worried about if it gets beat up.

They're fun little guns, both pistols and carbines. I often find myself recommending the 995TS 9mm Carbine as a home-defense firearm for people who are on limited budgets and have less experience shooting than some others. What's not to like about an inexpensive 9mm Carbine?

A bullpup conversion stock was recently announced for them. Conjecture for the MSRP for the stock kit is ~$270.

I dig it.

Same here, but to keep in the garage's tool cabinet...I am out there all the time and would prefer not to bring my spare 92FS out there all the time.
