New guy here. I have been looking for a reasonably priced Beretta 92 Sub 2000 because I gave up long ago looking for a Sig P226 version. These things are hard to find. I saw the PSA email on this nickel boron 9mm and impulsively bought it today ($449 + tax + shipping = $495). High priced, but I was sick of looking for something under $500 for all this time. I have the Beretta 96 Gen 1 40S&W and I just love it.

I joined this forum to find information on the 'nickel boron' version and saw this thread. Had to post when I saw the question asking about price.

I picked up a new latest gen .40 cal glock version today for $359 plus tax at my local dealer
Good price. Where I live the .40's are less expensive, and easier to find, than the 9mm. Best price I found on a .40 here was like $385.

I got the multi-mag model in Nickel Boron for $449 locally and that was the best deal there was. The big shop had 13 people waiting for 9mm models.

Yeah, I considered the 9mm, but I figured why not get the .40, have a little more punch...

What are the best mags for this thing? Just standard Glock 22 mags, or are there aftermarket options that work well and a good bit cheaper?

I took it apart, adjusted the length of pull to the middle position, lubed up the bolt and stuff really well, and I should hopefully get to break it in this weekend.

I have had pretty good luck with my Gen 1 KSG once I broke it in, secured the tube selector switch with red loctite, and filed down a little bit of the plastic that is on the inside of the foregrip and was rubbing and making "stiction" with the pumping action... now the action is as light as smooth as my Remmy 870...

Any "must do" things to this gun? I am gonna leave it with the iron sights... this is a plinker and "SHTF" gun that I can grab and go with, so I want to keep to the KISS system on this one...

I had a Gen 1 many years ago and it was reliable, but it's been so long I don't remember if I did anything to it...

How do you swap it to Sig? I looked on the KT site and saw some mag catch things. Is that all I would have to do?
On the Multi-Mag lower you just install the mag latch. Its like $12.33 or something. It even comes with the little Allen wrench to fit those small screws. You pull out two screws and take out the latch and then install the new one. The grip angle and size of the opening is virtually the same for all the mag choices they give you so you have the choice. Its a less than five minute job if you really work slowly. :)

But Gaston Glock wanted to be different so his magazines require you to change the whole grip as they don't fit the profile of other pistols. You can do that on a Gen 2 but not on a Gen 1. New grip is $50 something.

Two little allen screws and it swaps out. You don't need to remove the mag release button or anything.

Looking at them I don't see why you couldn't swap it out, but there's gotta be a reason...
