Is there any way to change how the mag release is? I hit it often messing around with the gun dropping the mag to the floor.

That is definitely one of the most irritating design aspects of the CMR. It's not that it was poorly thought out, it is that it doesn't seem to have been thought about at all. I understand the Tandemkross magazine bases are claimed to help with the issue.

I installed a Zip-tie on the grip just above the release button, it prevents unintended mag release. As a future project, I plan to glue something on the heel to replace the Zip-tie.

I have the same complaint. Way too easy to drop the mag.
It is a simple torsion spring so there must be one with more tension available. Or use a Hogue grip cover to help keep your hand away from the button?

I ended up carving a pink eraser to put in the hole, it has a bit of give and tightens it up some.I would prefer a better method though.

I bought my PMR yesterday. Since my LGS knows me so well, they brought out a CMR too, figuring I would just buy both at the same time. I couldn't get used to holding it, since I'm an AR/CZ Scorpion guy, and need a magwell for my weak hand to rest naturally. But that's not why I didn't get the CMR right then. Just handling it, I dropped the mag so many times, it was annoying. I probably want the CMR for my collection, but I'll have to find a solution to not dropping mags constantly.

The Tandemkross "Maverick" Extended Magazine Base Pads worked well for me. I use them on both the PMR and CMR.
