With the ammo shortage during the Obama days I kinda went overboard getting into shooting more 22's. I like bouncing cans around, plates, fruit etc outdoors. The only outdoor area that was around is now off limits. Shooting at static paper with 22 at an indoor range is no fun for me. So I sold off my 22's but wanted something that was similar to my center fire semi autos. I was thinking Taurus Tx22. However, the lgs gave me a good deal on what I sold him and he also had a new P17. We worked it into the deal. Most of the 22 ammo that was available during the shortage was hyper velocity. Remington Viper and Yellow Jackets. I must have over 1k of it. Is it ok in the P17? Fingers crossed. LOL.

Should be. I have had no trouble or read about any trouble with any ammo except of course with Winchester Bulk crap.

I've used hyper velocity 22's in mine and they worked just fine.

Peace favor your sword,

I have seen a few YouTube vids where people have had failure to feed with hyper ammo. The stronger retraction of the slide might have caused the problem. I have never shot hyper in mine to know if it works. One vid said the problem went away after a good cleaning and feed ramp polishing. I would think slide sides and ejector polishing could help also

Not sure when I'll get to the range but did an inspection of it. Started with the mags. Cleaned them but found no residue. Everything moves freely. The followers were smooth and slid up and down without a hitch (spring was out). Took a wood dowel and slowly worked the springs up and down 20 times. Breech face and chamber look good. My only concern is where the frame feed ramp meets the chamber ramp. When I ran a tooth pick tip across it there was a slight snag. So I loaded up the 3 mags with ammo. One with round nose. One flat nose and the 3rd with hp. I vigorously worked the slide and everything fed and ejected fine. We'll see what happens in live fire. All and all it looks to be well made.
