I seen pics online where people had installed picatinny rail on the underside of the Sub 2k Gen 1 forend.

My understanding is that the two pieces of the forend close at the top and the bottom. So how did these people manage to screw the picatinny rail to the underside of the forend?

Just a guess...I've seen pics in the past that were similar...the rail is actually fastened to the barrel. With just a cut out thru the forearm.

Maybe?

That small forward rail in the top picture is actually a Key-tec produced rail that fit in an opening in the Gen 1 hand guard. I don't know if Kel-tec still makes it or not. Yep, first thing listed on their accessory page. What would you folks do if I didn't have time to lead you by the hand? :p

I figured it out.

1.) Drill hole in the middle of underside
2.) Open the forend
3.) Superglue tighening screw nut/plate thing on half side of the forend (make sure the screw hole aligns with the hole drilled on the forend)
4.) Put forend back together
5.) Screw picatinny rail onto underside of forend (once the screw aligns with the nut plate inside the forend the screw will catch the nut plate and tighten the rail)
