About an hour ago, I was cleaning my KSG out after a recent trip to the range. When I had almost got it fully put together after I cleaned it, I heard something scraping against the bolt, I found this after I took it apart again.

It appears to be the Actuator Spring, but I looked and its right where its supposed to be, and apparently, there should only be one Spring in the firearm.. And yes, there appears to be some light surface rust right where the spring is, I'll clean that later.

So, can anyone pinpoint where exactly it came from? I am totally confused.

You are correct, there is only one in the entire unit but it looks like you received two.

It appears to be so, but why would it be near the breech and bolt? Its just very bizarre. I did do a function check a few minutes ago, the shotty works just fine.

Yeah, I'm glad the broken part didn't find its way into the breech of the gun, god only knows what would happen if I shot it then...

Just curious - How long was it since you bought your KSG and you found the second, broken spring? About how many rounds did you fire?

Oh shoot. I bought my KSG about 2 months ago. I found the broken spring 2 days ago. And I suppose I've had about 300-400 shotgun shells through it so far.

It's odd because the first time I cleaned it, I didn't find that 2nd broken spring in there. Very bizarre.

Probably deep in the buttstock. Not sure.

yep....straight out the QA persons butt....into yours (butt-stock) I have not posted in a while now, but each time I do decide to check it out it seems like the same ol' thing.....QA problems of some type....something that has plagued the KSG since invented...I thought by now these issues would have passed, but it seems they are OK with putting out a "Just OK" product with the same old issues, but I do have to admit....never seen this one. Don't get me wrong, have owned one for 2 years now (just collects dust) and when I did use it I was one of the lucky ones without an issue. Being what my wife calls a collector...lol...I have moved on to many more new weapons since I purchased the KSG and have been enjoying many types, without any issues. The last 7 I have purchased (including 2-Winchester Marines) have been manufactured in Turkey...fantastic fit and finish, great quality for a third the price in some cases. Good luck with your KSG and enjoy....I did mine until I moved on

Indeed. This was definitely a odd case of poor QC. I do still love my KSG, I will post a picture of it soon to show its alive and well. Haha.
