I just ordered a new Sub 2000 and was wondering if the problem with the front site shifting or coming lose has been addressed by Kel Tec. If it has been addressed/fixed, how can I find out when that was and when my rifle was made?
Thank you!

If you have the set screw in the front sight housing, it is an older one. The newer ones don't have a set screw, but basically two jam nuts.

However, the steel windage screw in the aluminum housing remains the same and won't last long term.

They updated mine...but I took it to the factory and had it done.

Give them a call or put in a ticket on their website.

I hope this isn't a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyway. On the front sight issue:
Why couldn't you dimple your barrel with a drill bit then screw your set screw into it kinda like you do to your gas block on an AR. Then the sight could not move?

True or false?

I think the problem was the old sight would cause suppressors to cant. Seems the set screw would cause the sight to tilt causing baffle strikes and similar problems.
