Hey, gang. I have been out of the loop for a long time, so I am not up to date on many KT offerings. However I have been considering getting a SUB2000, but I am not sure whether I should get the Glock 17 or Glock 19 style. Which is the most common and is the grip length the only difference between the two? I assume they accept the same mags.

The 19 can take 17 mags. The reverse is not true. This is why it is harder to find the 19’s - everybody gobbles them up - but 17’s are all over the place.

Thanks, I thought I had heard that, but wasn't sure. I think I will hold out of a G19 model just for that reason alone. Even though I think I would like the longer grip of the G17 more, I would value the universal nature of the G19 over the grip length.

    Thanks Again.

It sounds great on paper, but the grip length of the KT 17 is the same length as the G19. You wont get all three fingers on the KT 19 grip if you are using G19 mags. I just bought a KT 17, but then I also have a G17, so mags are not an issue.

There is a dealer on gunbroker that has both 17’s and 19’s for $399 +$10 shipping. Best deal I have seen on GB.

Yeah, grip length is usually a concern in handguns, but remember you have both hands, a shoulder, and a cheek stabilizing the S2K. The grip length isn't as much of a factor as with a handgun.

I've shot both and prefer the larger grip and higher capacity mag.
A full grip keeps you hands off the magazine.
And as a side note: not sure of the drum magazine fitment with the shorter grip..

Unless you have a ton of G19 mags already it's better to go with the Sub2k G17 model. If you already have a Glock 19 and less than half a dozen mags for it, then just trade those 15 rounders to someone for some 17 rounders. You really only need one short mag for your 19 to keep in the gun when you carry.

I never gave any thought into the drum magazine. I'm not really into setting my barrel ablaze with 100 round dumps, but I do prefer a nice feeling grip. What's the difference in length between the KT17 and KT19, about 1/2"?

Yeah, there or abouts. Gripping the S2K for G17 feels like holding a G19 size grip, maybe a little shorter. The S2K for G19 feels like holding something just a little longer than a G26... just my subjective experience from handling my G17 version versus my neighbor's G19 version. On the S2k G17 version it measures 2.16 inches from the bottom of the trigger guard to the base of the grip along the front. Compare that to my actual G26 pistol that measures 1.32 inches.

I wear a size medium glove and have no problem getting all fingers on the 19 sized grip

I also wear a size M glove & my grip takes every bit of Gen 1 S2K G17 space...

Why get a shorter grip when you will be feeding it with 33 round mags?

Don't get the G19 version unless you like a 2 finger grip and your pinky swinging free. Personally I hated it.

The grip takes G19 mags but is shorter than an actual G19 grip.

Do yourself a favor, just get the G17 version.

You guys are making me feel like my ex-girlfriend at a drive-thru menu. :D
Now I am back to leaning toward the G17 grip.

You can always buy the G-19 grip from Keltec's web site. Then you can try it both ways and keep it however you like.

Yep. I can't imagine the grip any smaller than what I have on my g17 version. Besides, g17 stuff is all over the place anyway. not like you'll be hurting for accessories.

I got mine with the Smith&Wesson magazine.
Why? My car gun is a SW40C pistol and I wanted the magazine to also fit it.
Yeah,, a huge magazine sticking out of my pistol!

I agree. I have the shorter grip on my Gen 2 and hate it. I am going to sell it and get the longer grip version.
