when did they switch from gen 1 to gen 2? and how do i tell them apart. the photos look the same to me as mine on the kel-tec website. and i have no idea which it is. how much difference is there between the 2, and what did they "improve"? thanks.

1st gen slide was made from 6 sided bar stock, 2nd gen is from square bar stock...cost savings.

THANKS! i guess that is a good reason i could not see any difference, mine is a 2nd gen. while the narrow top of the first looks cool, i am glad i have a 2nd gen. i think the flat top aids in getting on target quick.

Some 1st Gen. aficionados say that the beveled profile for the slide makes it more rounded and easily concealed in a pocket or waistband.

I find that the beveled top profile works as surrogate sights for a minute-of-bad-breath-range gun like a P3AT/P32.

pinstripper ,,, I like the 6 side'ed slide too! Wish they offered it. That p32 is a beauty and will eat anything. Got some Doc plating coming back from CCR soon. I'll post some pics.
