I have a G17 Gen 2 Sub2K arriving next week. I have owned 1st Generation Sub 2000's in the past but this will be my first Gen 2. I spoke to a Kel Tec representative and they told me the only rail capable forearm option for the Generation 2 is Red Lion....the Kel Tec factory railed forearm only fits the Generation 1 guns. From looking over this and previous threads on the forum, I hope the experts here could answer some questions for me (couldn't find what I was looking for in the FAQ's section)

Where can I find the optional folding rear sight as well as the rear sight with a larger aperture?

Who are the manufacturers that sell the covers for the stock tube?

Can a red dot with a QD mount be attached to the factory forearm or do I have to install a Red Lion forearm?

What is the best option to install a 2 point sling on the S2K (with QD swivels)?

I have a GEN 1 but I got a length of pipe insulation for the bolt tube and ranger banded it on. It looks ghetto but I never thought of the Sub 2k as a good looking gun. I found I could easily modify it so it does not interfere with operation. One 5 foot length was less than 5 bucks and it cheap to replace. The cushioning helped with cheek weld and made it more fun to shoot. I would think if you want to make one that is more durable or lest bolt on it would be easy to make one out of PVC Pipe and a dremel tool. I Live in NY so I can't get a Gen 2. I had to register my SUB 2 k to keep it.

I ordered mine a few days ago so I can't comment on anything beyond the first time I shot my 40 s&w one I decided it was worth a $14 risk.

The Gen 2 comes with picatinny rail on the top and bottom, and M-lok slots on the side, it's all moulded in plastic but it fits all accessories I've tried on it thus far, so no reason it won't work with a QD mount.

If you need the QD swivels, the buttstock of the Gen 2 has a short picatinny rail on the bottom, a picatinny QD adaptor could fit on there and give you a 2-point option. the buttstock also has a ring for a clip on sling and if you want a side mount with the factory stock, there are M-lok QD sling mounts.

Tandemkross sells one ~ not very popular here. A vendor on Gunbroker (Earley) sells 2 versions; standard & combat aperture. I've bought both & prefer the one sold by Earley.

Yes, a RD with QD can be installed to the factory forend with M-Lok accessories. Some here have added the stabilizer from Earley beforehand to minimize forend shifts/movement so zero can be maintained.

Here's a pic where I attached mine on the forend: MAGPUL M-Lok version.

If you choose to install a QD swivel aft, Earley from GB has developed one that will attach to the stock strap slot.

I clip my sling to the loop on the stock, but there are other choices. Magpul has a loop that will attach to the rail section at the bottom of the stock.

My sub2k is exactly like the OPs questions. OP look in the sub2k porn/pictures thread. My S2k has 2pt sling (mlok QD on the front like ArtofGolf), reddot with QD riser (co-witness), and bolt tube cover. I'd just post a pic here, but my workplace blocks the pic site I use.

WOW! Exactly the kind of info I had hoped for! I really appreciate the help. I have a Primary Arms scope on an AR that I am very satisfied with so I think I may go with one of their red dots....or maybe a Holosun RD.

Forgot to ask about front sight options; Have most folks found it necessary to replace the front sight screws or the whole block on the Gen 2 front sight or has the new factory front sight held up okay? The cheap front sight design flaw on the Gen 1's was the reason I originally got away from the Sub 2000's.

Ebay has QD sling mounts for $8 each. Just need to clamp them to some picatinny like said previously, one on the forend and one on the picatinny on the stock.
