Hey all, first off, I'm a brand new sub 2000 gen 2 9mm owner ( Canadian edition)

Ive been doing some searching on forum and would like som clarification on a few questions I have.

A) https://youtu.be/WWDpAYkyPTw and https://youtu.be/BKcEX25TcLc
I've seen a few videos now where people are complaining about the threaded front sight post flopping down and becoming loose after little use. What I'm asking is, are there any easy solutions to this problem? I don't really want to take off the front sight post and redo the threadlock if I don't have too. Is there a strong likelyhood of it happening, and should I be preemptive?

B) I purchased a standard masterlock triggerlock for this gun, which works horribly. Here in Canada, their gun laws are fairly strict so don't feel comfortable taking it to the range without a trigger lock or some sort of lock in addition to the gun being folded in half. Do you guys have any quick suggestions as to what works well with this gun as far as locking it goes?

C) Are there any mods to make the ten round mag (that came with the gun) drop freely when releasing. Ten round magazines are the max for this non restricted Canadian edition gun, as I'm sure most of you know. I'm not sure if they don't drop freely because of their weight or how they fit.

Thanks in advance, sorry I don't know very much about firearms so am learning as I go.

Its not just the 10 round my 15 rnd .40 cal mag doesnt always drop free, its just a really snug fit. I imagine it will loosen over time.

Welcome to the forum. I'm going to recommend a cable lock dropped down through the ejection port and the mag well with the bolt locked back, then ease to bolt forward until it contacts the cable. This way you don't have to worry about the trigger guard moving. A brightly colored one will be more obvious for onlookers/inspectors.

Welcome to KTOG. And congratulations.
Make sure the set screw is tight.
Cable lock.
Lightly sand inside magwell (but not the mag catch) with sandpaper wrapped around a mag until desired clearance.
Try Glock mags.

Spot on. Exactly. To really impress the gun safety thought police, run that cable lock through the ejection port and around the stock to lock the entire weapon open, and store the magazine and ammo in different cities. That should make it safe. ;)

Here are a few pictures of my gen 2. I have a different 45 degree offset picatinny mount coming in a few days so I should be able to fold the gun completely again with the rds on. It sits too low there as well, it's a real struggle to get an eye on it, so I have a couple risers I'm going to try as well. If I do anymore mods it'll be front site mod, duracoat, single point sling, a butt pad, and possibly mounting my streamlight protac 2l but we'll see.
