Decided to try my SilencerCo Osprey suppressor on my Gen 2 9mm at the range. Using 147 subsonic ammo. 5 rounds dead center at 10 yards without suppressor. With Suppressor 5 rounds 8 inches down around 5 inches right of center. These are around 4 inch groups. If I aim high and to the left I can hit center of target. Moving out to 25 yards 5 rounds each on target without suppressor even greater spread of 5 shot groups. I can get close with suppressor by aiming about 12 inches high and 12 inches to left of center. Same using 115gn ammo. This same suppressor shoots perfect on my M&P 9mm. SilencerCo said to remove Nielson device (spring) and install fixed barrel spacer. No help, still shoots low and to right of target. Had range officer verify my findings. He's a better shot than me. Anybody run into this problem using a suppressor on a Gen 2.

Greetings,

Yes, sadly this is a known issue, and I'd recommend not shooting through the can anymore until you get it resolved to save yourself from a baffle or end cap strike.

There's another thread about sight problems that talks about this issue, and shows what appears to be the new front sight that is shipping now.

http://www.thektog.org/forum/f85/sub2000-9mm-gen-2-sight-issues-265280/index4.html#post2379151

The original front sight screws on until it bottoms out, then you back it off until it's vertical. At that point, there is a set screw that holds it in place. The problem is that the threads have play, and the set screw cocks the front sight downward, which is fine until you add a suppressor. The suppressor aligns itself with the front sight, so it's also pointing downward.

Kel-Tec has had my new rifle for 2 weeks now upgrading to the new front sight, which is supposed to resolve the problem. Sadly, they wouldn't just swap sights by mail, and I had to send the rifle in.

Cheers,
Rusty
