Sometime back I sent my PMR-30 to the Mother Ship for repairs. After over 1 month I finally received it with a list of repairs. One of those was a ( NEW ) front sight. Went out to try it out and the fifth rd. the front sight jumped completely off the barrel into the dirt and we never did find it. Waiting again for them to send me another ( hopefully better ) new sight. The one they replaced had 400 rds. through it and was deadly accurate. Noticed lots of threads about loose front sights. Any suggestions as I don't want to go high tech. as the original front sight was all I needed. Thanks

Thanks

This site is all new to me but was interested as it deals with Kel-Tec issues and they have a ton of them. If they ever get this thing right it will be very hard to beat. Had an AMC 6 in. very inaccurate. The PMR-30 is very deadly. Have killed coyotes at 75 yds.

The trick to keeping your front sight is to use some kind of thread locker (like blue Locktite) on the threads of the set screw once you get the front sight where you like it. I used clear nail polish and still have my original front sight.

Thank You

I have one of the original PMR's that has a dovetail slide in front sight, no set screw that I noticed or if there was one between the optics it was gone before I noticed it. They are supposed to be sending me another but I could die of old age before they get it to me. Thanks Loren

fiber optic tubes

Mine me from the factory with a small blue plastic card that had replacement FO sight tubes. It's a common complaint on the Springfield & Rock Island Armory forums as well so it's not an unusual issue.

Don't use glue to secure the FO tube, it's plastic and most glues will react and cause them to cloud up. Best method seems to be to get a knife and heat it up, then melt the end of the tube so it flares out and stays put. These FO tubes are available in different sizes but no idea what the factory tubes are.
