    Hi everyone,
I was just cleaning my P3-AT and was wondering how much slop is acceptable between the frame and the slide, in front? My P3-AT will wiggle almost 1/32" in the up and down! It does take a light push as the spring is trying to keep it up but the gap there seems kind of big. Is this normal? I guess as long as it goes back to the same spot everytime? Thanks.

    Welcome JeffM

I just checked mine. the muzzle end of the slide can go up and down 0.040"(little over 1/32), while the hammer end about 0.010"

    Yes, that's pretty normal.

Considering the short barrel, tiny sights, long trigger pull, and loose fit it's amazing how accurate these babies are. Gotta love 'em! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

That is quite remarkable indeed, you'd think with that much slop on such a short barrel....

Quite normal. Worse on the Pf9, I hear. :-/

I did not measure... but yes, more than a little "slop"... or maybe just enough "allowance".

The gap you mentioned has very little to do with slide tightness.

It is caused by varying degrees of warpage in the molded plastic grip.

Some of them are fairly straight and have little gap, and some of them are warped enough to look pretty bad.
