Hello,

I purchased a Keltec SU16 Tactical with the compact forend and pistol grip. After putting 115 rounds down range, the forend came apart. I've spend the last 2 hours trying to put it together and can't because of the forend spring lock. Do I need to keep it, what exactly is it for? I have no way of putting the forend back on with the spring in the way.

Any insight would be appreciated.

The spring needs to stay on for your forend to stay on. It will be really tight. Thats what hold it on. Does it have the original forend retainer lock and spring? What about the C clip?.

Yes, it has all the pieces but even when i push it all down to snap the forend in, it won't physically go because the spring is taking up too much space. IF I remove the spring I have no issue putting the forend back in.

Do I need to pull off the C clip as you have in your second picture?

yea the C clip should be removed per the instructions when I got my forend. helps the metals pieces align up with the spring and plastic thingy

The forend came with the gun and all the pieces were on before the forend came off. Just not possible to put it back on. Keltec wasn't 100% sure if I should be removing anything unless I was installing other aftermarket forends.
