First time to the range on a new S2k. Did not clean or lube before firing. Ran 65 rounds of Winchester 180gr FMJ Law Enforcement box and 40 rounds of Winchester 165gr FMJ Law Enforcement.
I had one malfunction at round 80. It failed to feed the first round on a fresh mag. For now I will assume it user error when using the charging handle. I'll keep my eye on that ... Otherwise 100% reliable. Dont really care for the charging handle setup. Unlike the RDB, which KT nailed.
Now the bad news. Windage sucks. I had to crank the front post about 75% of the way to the right. Shoots straight now but very distracting when you line up the sights. Wish Kel Tec had better workmanship than that. Accuracy was good. I was seated getting around 5rds into 1" group at 25 yds. At 7 yds of standing casual fire I put about 30 rds into a 2x2" ragged hole.
Perceived recoil was more than expected. Noticeably more than a 10mm MP5 with 180gr Federal HP (a light load, admittedly) but then again the MP5 is heavier.
Fun factor was very high. Something special about such a petite little gun when so many other pistol caliber tactical carbines are fairly chunky in comparison.
Questions:
1. Any options for me to straighten out the front site. Can the assembly be lossened and rotated into proper place?
2. What weapon light is popular for a S2k?
3. Are there any QD sling mount adaptors?
