I've been lurking here for 3 weeks or so trying to learn everything I could before trying out my new (first) gun. I put 4 mags of CCI A22 through it without a single problem which was a relief. Mine's one of the newer ones with the double length front sights so I'm hoping all the bugs are worked out and I'm good to go. I was going to settle for a .22LR pistol but I lucked out and found a PMR-30 at a Dick's Field and Stream store for $409 on sale so I went for it - so far I'm glad I did.

Hey I just brought a PMR today also I I think it's the new model because it has the smaller carrying case and it doesn't have a fluted barrel..
i havent taken my gun to the range yet but I've loaded a mag and started to manually cycle the gun but the bullets are not extracting so it can feed a new bullet...I'm just trying to see if this only happens when you're manually cycling the gun or if I'm having an extractor issue

For what it's worth mine extracts fine manually although I've only tried it with the mag out to get the cartridge out of the chamber to unload the gun.

I'm new here so I'll tread cautiously but isn't it time for Gen 1 / Gen 2 ... labeling on the PMR-30 like there is on the P-32? Most of the stuff I looked up on the PMR-30 (especially the bad stuff) was for guns many generations older than mine. It took a while to realize that the gun I bought had most if not all of the issues addressed already. Mine came in the black slim box, has the non-fluted barrel, has "22 WMR" on the slide cover, has the double-length front sight, has the new buffer, and maybe some other improvements/fixes that I don't know anything about. I've seen it called the "Newest Version" on gunbroker.com listings but that moniker is only good for a limited time. My apologies if this has been addressed already but I feel new PMR-30 buyers should have a better way of identifying what they are buying.
