F/S is a mossberg 500 rifled slug barrel and scope mount that I bought thinking I had a 500.  Come to find out I have a 835 and they don't match.   :-[

Seems that the going rate is around $160-$170 + shipping:

I am asking $140  $125 including shipping or partial trade for: M44 Nagant, p3at holster, Mossberg 835 rifled barrel ( :-[ ), .30 or .223 caliber reloading components... I am pretty open to trade offers.

I have a mossberg 500, but I really don't need a slug barrel. However, if you can not get rid of it I would trade three hundred .223 (.224) Hornady bullets different grains. 100- 68 gr BTHP. 100- 60 gr SP. 100- 55 gr SP.

That is about all it is worth to me. So if you still have it let me know.

Well, tell me why I need a slug barrel? If you can convince me I need one, I might up the offer. I Just started shooting a year ago, and just got the Mossberg last month.

If you want to do deer hunting in east TN or western NC, then a 12 ga slug gun is the best brush gun you can use.  Twigs, even small saplings, will not interfere with it nearly as much as with a 30 cal projectile.  Most deer shots in this neck of the woods are 50 yds or less any way.

If it was a Remington, I would be all over it.

    What he said.

Also it is just fun to shoot slugs!

I like to go shoot slugs in the evening and the flame that shoots out the porting looks really cool.

The main purpose of the slugs is: hunting, recreation and self defense.

Whenever i go camping I always bring the shotty loaded up with slugs for personal defense. Maybe it is a little overkill but someone once told me there is no such thing as too dead.

I am not a very good salesman but that is just my $.02

Hunting yes, but I have never hunted...Yet.

I will think about it, but you might get a better deal somewhere else before I finish thinking.

Can I assume that the barrel is a 12 ga? I get that from the links you posted. I was looking for a 20 ga slug barrel for a Mossy 500.

Sorry, I should have explicity stated that. Yes, the barrel is a 12 gauge.

Just a question - Having never shot a slug out of a shotgun, I thought they had rifled slugs that you shot out of smooth barrels.  Do they have smooth slugs that you shoot out of rifled barrels too?  Or do you shoot rifled slugs out of a rifled barrel???

I have a Mossberg 500 I bought decades ago that originally came with like a 28" barrel that I cut down to 19" (the long barrel model was much cheaper than the short barreled one at the time).  I always figured I could shoot slugs out of my 500 if I ever wanted to, being as how it's what I think you'd call a "cylinder bore" after I shortened it.  Is this not correct?

Sangueffusor's link pretty much answers your q haertig.  Depends on the type.  I always bought the walmart cheap slugs (sabot).  The sabots are much more easily available and cheaper.

    Also - Price Lowered to:

    $125 Shipped
