Hey everyone, just bought a new SU-16A, and the two mags that came with the rifle are a major PITA to put an and take out. I used a dry erase marker on one of the mags and found several places where the magazine is rubbing on the inside of the front of the magwell. Is this a known issue with factory mags, or do I need to go get some sandpaper?

Also, the takedown pin is a pain to put in and out. The rifle is a tan/dark earth color, could this be from painting a previously black rifle?

My stock mags do not drop free, but they are not extremely tight.

every su-16 I have ever handled have tight factory mags, this is made even worse when fully loaded. normal use with a GI mag there are no issues.

Yup, i am having the same issue (along with other issues with the 10rnd mags). But yeah, it's got a very tight fit in the mag well. I haven't found a way to "fix it" but i think the more you use it, the more it will be easier? not really sure.

my plr had this problem but that was a tiny mag. I sanded it until it worked, it was not much, thousandths of an inch (similar technique, marker to find where to sand). Being plastic, it didn't take long at all. Normal AR mags fell right out immediately, so it was the mag not the mag well for me...
