Bought some Federal Punch .22 cal Self Defense ammo yesterday evening and could not wait to go to the range early today and try it out in the P17. I liked it very much and going later to buy more. This time I took my time and actually shot a little closer than usually ( most of the time it is 12-15 yds) at 10 yds. Very accurate ammo and the P17 had zero problems with it

Good shooting! Yeah i keep thinking maybe a sr22 would be nice. Then i go out to the range with the p17 and lcpii 22lr. The p17 impresses me so much that i realize there is no need to spend the additional money.
The p17 and cp33 are just so darn accurate and fun to shoot. Reliablity is excellent if guns are kept clean.

With the Federal Punch ammo and the laser installed it makes a great nightstand gun for my wife. I think I will probably sell or try to trade even across as close as possible .... one of my Heritage S/A .22 Rough Rider revolvers and one of the Phoenix Arms HP22 and buy another P17... in Green if I find one.

I know what you mean. The p17 offers so much. P17 and cp33 have been occupying me range time. I was looking at advantage arns 22lr conversion but it just doesn't compare to the value and reiability if the p17. Yes i would like to have more glock like trigger time but the p17 just rules.

If i come across a good cheap deal on a conversion i may do it fir comparison purposes but not likely.

Congrats on your new gun.

I do have a .22 Kadet conversion for my CZ P-07 and it is great to have, but would rather shoot the P17 and save the wear and tear on the P-07. The Tisas will give me some inspection and Fluff and Buff time with it at home

Air gun Trigger Gun barrel Gun accessory Cup

A basic full size with upgrades...G 10 grips, upgraded enhanced skeleton trigger and hammer, F/O front and U notch rear sights, undercut trigger housing, ambi/extended safety and 2 8rd mags instead of one. Have a felling I am going to spend way to many $$$ on after market mods though.

I did that with a Norinco 1911 back in 1998...turned out to be a great weapon

Yours looks nice. Fun base gun to tinker with. 1911 are great fun.

Did the same back when i shot 1911. Norincos made a great base gun.

I just put first rounds through advatnage arms 22lr glock conversion.
It may be replacing my beloved p17s.

I was considering one for my 80% build and my G19 but having the one for the CZ P07 just satisfied me for now. Besides if I bought one I would have never bought the P17, and I really like that thing!

I have always been an advocate of the p17 and cp33. They are value packed and innovative pistols.

I hadn't shot my glock 17 or rather a p80 build 17 in some time.

Wow! I was horrible. After 3 range sessions i began to get my accuracy and trigger back into line.

It started me thinking about an advantage arms 22lr conversion kit.

I found one new for bid in ebay. I lucked out getting it for 210.00

I ran some of my bulk ammo from various manufactures that give my cp33 and p17 trouble.

Right out if the box it functioned flawlessly. Absolutely no issues.

Today i put the same sights i have on my 17 slide and went out to sight it in.

After getting sights dialed in i ran mag after mag until sun was going down. About 200 to 300 rounds.

Again it ran like a champ. Only issue was under powered rounds not cycling slide completely.

The feed ramp began to get gummed up do i came home.

I had one of these many years ago but this current version of the kit is a huge improvement.

Polished barrel, ramp and barrel guide tonight.

I am waiting on the glock 26 follower and plug as i have read that those will allow mag to run 15 round.
Plus the mc phaden quick lightening speed loader has an adapter for it.

If that works then i am getting a few more mags.

I have to say that getting more time using my 17 frame , trigger and sights is fun. I like the idea of using same grip and trigger.

The idea that it is less ammo sensitive than the cp33 and p17 appeals to me.

My lcpii 22lr with tandemkross wingman plus 4 mag base plates yields 15 rounds in a smaller thinner more compact less ammo sensitive carry gun . Plus my lcr 22lr does the same.

I have to say that if after about 1000 rounds this advantage arms kit still performs like this my p17s will have to go by the way side

Yep i said it. I cant believe it myself. this kit combined with the lcpiiand lcr are uber reliable. less ammo sensitive . This yields more enjoyment at the range and more practicality for me.

Next is to reexamine my 1022 against the cp33 for ammo sensitivity and reliablity. Yes the 1022 is a bit heavier and mags are bulkier but i am getting to 5he point that ammo sensitivity is a definite consideration.

Took the P17 and the Glock 43x to the range today.. had just adjusted the sights on the Glock and it was much more accurate. The P17, well once again a pleasure to shoot. Was rushing the shots to much though. Had to take the dog to the vet. The dead center bullseye was the first shot I took.

I have found them to be very accurate.
Since picking up the advantage arms 22lr conversion kit for.my glock 17 poly80 build i havent used mine as much. I.like the idea of getting more trigger time on my 17. I have it set up with same defensive sights. Xs big dot standard green with tritium insert. I was able to get great deal on my new kit. Doesnt have the threaded barrel. My p17s are sitting in my safe collecting dust.
Between this kit and my lcr and or lcpii 22lr with tandemkross wingman plus 4 mag base ( 15 total rounds) the p17s are becoming obsolete.

With the advantage arms kit i also dont see the need for the glock 44. I am able to get 13 rounds in the 10 round mags by replacing the mag spring plunger with their glock 26 version.

Well took the P-17 along with a 1911 45 cal to the range today. The P17 has never given me a problem and today it was just not feeding or ejecting right for some darn reason. I had loaded 2 mags with Aguila 38 gr HP ammo a few days ago and threw a box of CCI Mini Mags in the case. When I remembered I was shooting the Aguila I switched over to the CCI ammo and never had another problem for 50 rds shot. Strange things is the Aguila is leftover ammo from a box I shot last range trip with no problems.
