    gotta love the SU22...
This one has the pistol grip stock, gemtech Alpine silencer, Leupold prismatic sight (LOVE this sight), black-dog 50 round drum.  This gun actually got shared between 4 people at the competition, no cleaning needed. It even survived a case blowout due to some crappy ammo.

I won 1st place in the Sem-auto class at the october subgun match at the port malabar pistol and rifle club with it.  Granted, the majority of the competition is in the Full-auto class, but It's still lots of fun. some info on the competition (and other competitions around the US) can be found here: http://miniuzi.com/calendar/month.php

first video here, with tactical mag change:

even cleared a malfunction at the end of this one (dud round I think it was....using federal bulk pack)

I'll post pix of the gun soon too.

    Thanks for the videos!

This reminds me that I need to compete with my SU-22. Too fun... and educational too.

I also need to do the trigger job to lighten it up a bit and do the big .22 LR ammo test.

I don't think the gun I used had the trigger job.

But if your competition is based on accuracy more than speed, then it would probably help a good amount.

Me Bay 1...jams are due to remington target ammo, after switching to federal bulk back, everything was fine.

    Firedog,

if your in the central Florida area (you had another post that said you stopped by kel-tec), you should try out the matches....they are tons of fun. First sunday of every month, at the port malabar gun club....you can even borrow the drum mag if you want.

I went by port Malabar gun club last Sunday after seeing your videos. I wanted to look around, maybe take a tour and see what they had. The young kid at the gate said I was not allowed in even to check the place out and look around. He said even as a potential member I had to come back on the forth Sat. of a month and do a three hour orientation. Well, the forth Sat. of December is Christmas day so I doubt that will happen. I guess I'm looking at the 22nd of January before I can get in to see the place. I'm on shift that day so not sure I can make it. It really sucked because I drove from north brevard all the way down only to turn around and head back north. My bad for not calling but I figured hay, "I'm sure a gun club will be open on a Sunday".

I've got four friends that want to join and are planning on going down with me in January. I hate waiting that long but I guess rules are rules.

    Firedog,

I'm not a member there but you could come by on the 1st sunday, at 9am to participate in the subgun match. you do not have to be a member to go to the matches. just sign in at the gate for the subgun match and they will let you in.  It's $20 to participate, but I don't think you would be charged just to observe. Kieth is the main organizer of the matches and a board member of the range, so he could also help you out if you want to join the range.

best bet is to checkout the info on the next match (Jan 2nd) here: http://miniuzi.com/calendar/view_entry.php?id=69&date=20110102 and e-mail the contact and ask him if you can come by and just observe.

    Toby

PS just noticed that link says the match is on the 7th, but it is actually on the 2nd as shown here: http://miniuzi.com/calendar/month.php?date=20110101

    Toby,
Thanks for the info. I just checked my calendar and I got'a work that day also. That sucks, but maybe next time. I'll keep an eye on that web site and see when they're in Palm Bay next. I may just have to make contact with Keith about a special membership orientation for me and my fellow firefighters to maybe get in before Jan 22. We are itching to start shooting down there together. I got few new firearms and I'm really tired of indoor ranges. Shooting mag after mag 50' at just paper all day gets old.

    Thanks again.
