So am I correct that an FDE or OD Green RDB is factory Cerakoted rather than a colorized polymer throughout.

Hmm... I thought the color was impregnated into the polymer... A local shop called me and said they had a FDE RDB in stock, I told them I was looking for a black RDB. When I picked up the rifle, the guy said "How about a tan RDB?" I told him maybe if I lived in AZ, or NV. I live in PA.

I work at a shop that does Cerakote so it would be no big deal to Cerakote the rifle myself. But....I would prefer the polymer to have been dyed because Cerakote will eventually wear off, especially after hard use.

Wow - I didn't realize the colors were cerakote. I know it's a tough finish but it can chip or flake so I would guess you'll see black underneath if this ever happens. I guess I'm glad I went with black after-all.
