cleaner ammo

After I got my p32 back from KT I went to the range yesterday and shot a box of Remington fmj, when I got home I cleaned the gun---pretty dirty. Today I went to the range with a box of Fiocchi fmj---I thought they shot better. When I got home, I hardly had to clean the gun at all---much cleaner than Remington. Do any of you find that one brand of ammo burns cleaner that another?

Of course. There is a wide variety. Some run dirty, others not so much.

Add American Eagle which is Federal, Winchester and PMC to the dirty list. Fiocchi is clean and even PPU isn't bad.

Good info. I need to buy some more 9mm. I will give Fiocchi a try.
There seems to be a correlation between power and cleanliness. I noticed this while developing some .32 ACP loads. Even with the same powder and primers, hotter loads shot cleaner. The Eurpoean ammo for .32 ACP is generally more powerful than American .32 ACP. The Italian-made Fiocchi 73 gr. FMJ .32 ACP load is one of my favorites in that caliber. Another is Sellier & Bellot 73 gr. FMJ.

Fiocchi's good stuff in general - not top-shelf, but good. Winchester, regardless of caliber, is some of the most filthy junk I've ever fired. Remington ranks a fairly close second, again in all calibers. Federal is hit-or-miss, as it's not bad in some calibers and in others (especially .45 ACP), I have flakes of black carbon junk all over my forearms when I leave the range. I used to really like Perfecta, but even though it shot clean, it was one of the few things I found that consistently caused some guns (that were otherwise not picky) to be fussy in .40 S&W and .45 ACP.

As far as .32 ACP specifically, all I've really shot for the most part have been Fiocchi, Sellier & Bellot (S&B), PMC, and a little bit of Winchester and Remington - the latter two were slightly dirtier, but not much, while the others were perfectly fine. I may have run a box or two of PPU/Prvi Partisan through one or more of my P32's over the years, I dunno, but it was unremarkable enough for me not to remember it being really good or bad either way, so I guess it's also good to go.

agreed..perfecta is a finicky round in some guns, kahr 380 will not cycle it at all... took a caliper to it and the perfecta 380 is out of spec.. however my lcp will cycle the perfecta brass just fine so i keep it seperated when reloading..

ive only run fiocchi and hand loads in my p32, fiocchi burns clean and i try to match its load so no dirty loads here
