Though I bought it back in November, I held off taking it out. After all, it was a "Christmas gift for the lovely wife"..........yeah she doesn't buy that excuse either! "But hun, really!" I mean she unwrapped it, the tag had her name and all.....

We since it sat around for over a month hidden in my locker at work, it got dressed up a bit. Started out as a tan Glock 23 sized (wanted the shorter grip to be more in line with my carry mags) 40 cal. Added the Tacticool tube cover and charging handle cover, ATI shoulder pad (you guys here said it bites ya in the shoulder), an inexpensive angled fore grip and a Streamlight TLR 4 light/lazer combo. Couple extra mags for good measure too! So that's what all was in the gift package.
Yes, she likes it......but just doesn't buy my explanation that it's "hers"!

So my sons and I took it out the other day to the range. Shot flawlessly, but sight is high left. I've got the laser dead on the sight though. Went to adjust sights....no tools....Never rely on a 16y/o to pack everything you tell him too, no matter how good a kid he is! LOL!

So a little Kentucky windage and we're right on at 25 yards. One ragged hole with 40 rounds of 165gr American FMJ. Nice, I really like this gun.

All totaled, put 125 rounds through it with no issues. Every round fired and ejected as it's supposed to. Now my only question is....EVERY spent case has a flat ding on the open end? I've never seen this in ANY semi I've ever fired. Any ideas?

I'll add photos after the holiday.....busy at work right now.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all!!

Ive picked up hundreds of cases with that dent. Its not a problem so long as the gun is cycling properly. 40 and 45 seem to be extra prone to it. Happens across many gun makers and models. You can make a dent like that by hand, the brass is thin there and it does not take much force. Its caused by the brass hitting things as it exits the gun. The thingy what knocks it sideways does it (the bolt pulls it straight backwards, so something has to hit it to make it go sideways and out the port).

It's the nature of the beast...meaning pistol caliber rifles tend to do that. Mine does it to all brass, some a bit lighter of a ding, sometimes heavier.

Normal.

Thanks guys.

This is the first pistol caliber carbine I've owned. Like I said, never saw it before. AR platforms, many semi pistols etc. Since it was so consistent I figured it must've been the nature of the beast....but had to check with the experts on this platform! :p

Thanks again!
