???
I havent been around much lately, but this seems to be the hot topic around here as of late.
I quess the prob is happening around the guise rod hole, but I am not exactly sure what to look for
:-[ I have some "texture" around hole, but amlost certain it's from when i had it refinished my Mac. Just want to make sure I didnt have something covered up, as most of my rounds were pre refininsh, w/ only a few here and there since.
Mine is HPH7*, but had replacement slide around March, 06.

you might not have problems. seems the H's and early J's are OK

Don't even THINK about worrying. Yours should be fine.

The problem guns/slides appear to have been made between this past August and February. Iindications are that it was probably a fairly small percentage of them. You are good to do. 8)

+1 to all above about not worrying fish....

I also think the "problem" is probably fixed.

Here is a photo of my bad slide:

Here is a photo of a very good..makes me drool slide that most of us wish we had.

Your slide should appear flat on the front of the slide at the guide rod hole. A small raised ridge, I think, is not a cause for alarm.

Mine has a very small raised ridge on one side, near the top, I think. So, I should have no cause for concern?? I was thinking about going ahead and adding some of those washers just to prevent it from getting any worse. (My gun is about a year and half old, BTW.)

adamky. My slide is 7 months old and displayed the same condition after 300-450 rds. I just tapped it flat with a brass hammer and personally, I am gonna shoot it as is, and when it has a big "pucker" or ring around the hole that makes it likely that the inner spring is due to come out, I will send it in It is not a catastropic failure, even if it happens. Watch it and see its growth progress.I wonder if the washer is a fix, or a delay

Those of us that use them, if I knew anyone that fit that description...have been heard to say it is a temporary fix until we can be assured KT really has straightened things out. Although I have to wonder how many will just leave the washer in and never worry about it after that.

I carry my 3AT as a self defense weapon. If the spring popped out when I needed that 2nd or 7th shot, I would consider that CATASTROPIC FAILURE!

And if I died, hopefully my wife would agree. But then again, she maybe the one shooting at me. ;D

I wonder the same thing. If a washer is all it takes to prevent this, and it doesn't affect the reliability/functionality of the gun, I'm all for it.
