What does "bump" or "bumped" mean when posted in a thread? I can and have figured out a lot or abbreviations like YMMV or IMHO, but get lost with some. Is there a primer for us slower types, to help us figure out what the long time members are saying?

A bump is a post that pushes the thread to the top of the forum listings. Example; if you have an item for sale in the Trading post and your thread moves to page two of that forum, you may post a bump in your thread to bump it back to the top of page one.

when a thread has become inactive (no one's posting to it) the active threads will soon fill the first page and thus inactive goes to page 2.

And how many look at page two?

thus "bump" is a frivilous post to make the thread come back to page 1

uhhh, I'm not really sure what you mean. Is it the word bump? Or just an empty post?

OOOOH, never mind...I get it. To bring the post back to the first list of pages.

Thank you! Still need an interpreter for a lot, but this one I get.

Haugrdr, don't feel bad; I finally figured out last night how to "cut & paste". :-[

To think of all the time I wasted, typing in whole URLs and quotes....
