Can I bump fire my SU-22?

You sure can... with some practice!

I was impressed that these videos weren't just another lame trial-and-error bump fire attempt with partial success. The three videos demonstrate emptying a 27 round magazine, and the videos are crystal clear, including the slow motion video and the slow motion closeup. It looks like they were made by an engineer... hiya ktwm!

Note that the muzzle doesn't move. I'd like to see a target at 25 yards with 27 holes in it! Note also that the 27 rounds are fired in about two seconds. That's approximately 800 rounds per minute, or maybe 650 rpm if it was actually 2.5 seconds. That's an impressive rate of fire.

Thanks for these cool videos. I know what I'll be trying at my next range trip.  :D

Anyone care to try this with the Black Dog 50 round drum?

I bet that wasn't Remington Golden Bullet ammo.  ::)

Note also that Kel-Tec now has a YouTube channel. That's definitely worth a subscription.

I need an emergency range trip. I'm having a hard time not sneaking down into the basement to try bump firing my SU-22C!

He truly has the golden bump firing finger.

The wall at the side of the Kel-Tec indoor shooting bay plays an important part in creating a rigid point of stability for the trigger finger, but in theory, I can use the 4X4 post at a firing range to do the same thing. Beyond that, again, in theory, it's just a matter of allowing the rifle to recoil and rebound in oscillation.

I can say from a few poor attempts at bump firing my PLR-16 when ktwm can apparently empty a magazine, that I am convinced there is a wide chasm between the theoretical and the real world in which I shoot.

However, I am convinced that the techniques can be learned, and I will dedicate myself to the task. I hope to impress folks at the KTOG Nationals in late July with my SU-22C bump firing prowess.

If I have any success, I'll post a YouTube video of my own, although it won't be of the quality of those linked to above.

Darn it! I was at the range on Saturday and was so busy instructing other people in shooting (using my Liberty Training Rifle of choice, the SU-22C) that I forgot to try to bump fire my SU-22C! I shot four rounds myself, and then I spent a lot of time loading mags for others.

Next time for sure!

I just left myself a PostIt note in the SU-22C gun case that says "BUMP FIRE!"
:)
