With your CMR sitting on the bench empty magazine inserted can you pull the action rearward and use the bolt stop button next to the safety to hold the action open?

With an empty magazine inserted, bolt stays locked open without using bolt stop lever.

Remove magazine, pull bolt to rear. Engage bolt catch. If it won't hold bolt in open position you have a broken bolt latch. First indication I had bolt latch failure was not holding bolt back after last round.
