I am looking at 1-4x24 scopes for my AR. I would like the following:

3-5in Eye relief
Illuminated
30mm tube
Sleek
True 1x
Etched Glass

The following either have or come close to the critiria

1) Burris 1-4x24 Xtreme Tactical XTR 30mm Rifle Scope
$700-800
This is my favoret, but out of my price range. I could save for it, but I would be without scope for a while.

2) Burris 1-4x24 MTAC 30mm Rifle Scope
$375-425
Still out of my price range

3) Leatherwood 1-4x24 CMR Tactical 30mm Rifle Scope
$300-350
I actually like this one alot, but not sure of the quality

4) Burris 1-4x24 Fullfield TAC 30 Tactical 30mm Rifle Scope
$280-320

5) Mueller 1-4x24 Speed Shot 30mm Riflescope
$220-$260
This is in my "Right now" price range. Unsure of the quality

6) Millett 1-4x24 DMS Tactical 30mm Riflescope
$200-245
This is in my "Right now" price range. Unsure of the quality

If any of you have one of these or have used one in the past, please let me know how you liked it and/or if you would recommend. Also if you know of another 1-4x24 scope that I should look at please post.

I'n gonna throw another one in the mix just to confuse you. Nikon M223 in 1-4X. I got 1 for Christmas with the matching mount, and while I haven't been able to set it yet I am impressed with it so far. You will have a very hard time finding any variable power scope with a true 1X though. Most of them are at least 1.25X as the base setting even if they say 1X.

My brother has this scope and it is really nice. However I want a illuminated scope, plus the Nikon is a 1-4x20, not 24

i think Dicks has a special right now if you buy the Nikon M-223 or P-223 (still not sure what the differnce is) that you get a Nikon scope mount free. I think the mount is listed for like $60 bucks. Not to bad of a deal.

Just got back from Dick's With a Nikon P-223 Scope and the P-223 scope mounts (which are 2 piece not one) for my new AR . Here's the deal, after a hour and two managers later i got the scope discounted $29 which put me paying $170 for the scope and the mounts for $49. The guy at the gun desk first told me that it was a mail in rebate but after he was nice enough to go online to the Nikon website and couldn't find anything he went and got manager #1. Manager #1 told me and gun counter guy that it was a mailin rebate as well. Guy behind counter didn't give up and went and got manager #2 which give me the $29 " discount"
