I've been trying to send a PM to a member each time I try a window pops up telling me either to register to use that feature or it tells me I'm banned from using this forum.
    Why is that?
I'm constantly being dropped and have to re-log in, I had to try several times to send this topic.
For some reason I can't send a PM to "Pistol Packer" even tho it says at the bottom of tyhe page that I'm logged in and can do those items. :(
Please help. John W.[reason]to change thread title[/reason]

If you are using the AOL proprietary browser, close it and use Internet Explorer, Mozilla, or something else.

I don't know the deal with AOL but several folks have had your experience.  This problem has also been mentioned by several in this thread:
    http://www.ktog.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1212972428

I'm going to change the title of this thread so that others can see it and adjust accordingly.  Anyone experiencing this AOL/KTOG conflict, feel free to comment here so the thread will stay up for others. ;)

    THANKS!

Same problems here! It may be time to call AOL and cancel. There are other forums I have problems with because of AOL.

I have some P11 accessories to sell and can't get on the Trading Post or PMs. I guess I can place them in the P11 section with an e-mail address and the admins can move them if need be. >:( >:(

I just use AOL for e-mail now, it's free anyways. I started using Internet Explorer awhile back just to log in here, I think it's faster using IE for KTOG IMO.

The last I knew AOL classifed firearms into the same category as porn. It's possible you're being censored.

I've also been told - I think this came from GOA- that AOL donates money to one of the gun grabbing groups.

    F*ck AOL

I hate them. I've hated them since the mid 90's.

They made the internet so even people with an IQ lower than my show size can get online.

    They're corrupt, anti-freedom, and anti-gun.

They control, monitor, and LOG everything you do. ALL of it.

    Bah!

And just how small is your show size? j/k

In all seriousness.... I agree.. F*ck AOL

There was a time when I used it... Then, I was introduced to the wide world of security flaws that AOL had..

Heck, I used to talk to a 14 year old, that was hacking aol accounts all the time... It was just that easy.

After hacking them, he'd have access to things like their credit cards, personal info and what have you....

Some people like AOL and that's great if it has what they want.
Among internet professionals, though, it's a joke.
We see someone mentioning AOL and it's like someone
talking about a cap gun here.

Unfortunately AOL is in a world of their own and think the entire internet community should change and conform to their silly standards...

AOL sucks, and has sucked ever since inception AFAIK.  After putting about 1 zillion disks into landfills all over the world, they managed to dupe enough people who had no idea how badly they sucked into signing up.  Once having something like 30 million customers, they have now contracted dramatically, and are quickly marching down the path to long-overdue extinction.

Do yourself a favor and ditch AOL, then use Firefox and you will be better served.

I also read somewhere that AOL was anti-gun....like Hussein Obama and his cronies. I think I read that on GlockTalk somewhere.

    [smiley=smiley_up.gif]  BUMP!   [smiley=smiley_up.gif]

Steadily finding folks having problems accessing a forum or 2 that are using AOL.

When they switch browsers, the problem disappears.

Yeah Tx, I think I was one of the first to post about this, maybe 9-10 months ago. It came on suddenly, I had no problems using AOL with KTOG before that. Something in one or the other must have changed. Since then I have used IE to access the forum with no trouble. I tried several versions of AOL, tweeked here and there, even did a complete un-install and reinstalled AOL...no luck. I'll stick with IE for KTOG, but I still use and like AOL for everything else.

There's no accounting for taste.    :D
