What bullet and COL are you using?

My reloading guides so from .965 to .980. From experimenting, it seems like the max the P3 mag will take is .970. All the data I have for 100gr bullets shows .980 COL. Any help would be appreciated.

    I am loading
    90 grain XTP HP over 3.5 Red-Dot or Green-Dot = .955" OAL
    100 grain Berry over 3.3 Green-Dot or 3.8 Unique = .975" OAL

Federal AE 95 grain factory FMJ is 9.62".
Sellier & Bellot 92 grain FMJ is .975".

They all fit & feed perfectly in all three of my mags.

The .980" OAL is not set in stone.
Seat to .975" and work up your loads and you should be fine.

.975 won't fit in my mags, at least the 102 gr Remingtons. Would it be ok to start at .970 and work up from there?

As long as you are not already at a max powder charge, seating depth is not at all critical (within reason).

It's my opinion that .005" deeper seating is not going to make one bit of difference in the load unless you are already getting "Guppy Belly" cases from excess pressure where you are at already.

Appaerently the Remington bullets have a more "pointy" shape then anything I have loaded.
