I remember reading an online article about being able to remove either handle, and/or shave them down in order to be able to reduce profile width.

I like having both. Laying it on either side the barrel doesn't contact the lip on the table at most ranges. Yes I am a minimalist but dont see much benifit removing one. Might need it someday.

I took off the RH side CH and have had zero problems. Someone should make a folding charging handle.

It's super easy. We just did ours. Since both my girlfriend and I are right handed so figured one side could be removed to allow at least one side to lay flat.
