I've purchased from A to G on several occasions. I've also purchased from Natchez Shooting. I've never experienced problems with either one.

I've yet to have a problem with the 7.62x25 rounds with cracks in the casings. I bought mine from Century Arms directly. 1260 rounds for about $90.

I expect the possibility of cracks in cases in surplus target ammo. Not in NIB ammo. I might have had an easier time accepting that, even then, if they had been marked "factory seconds" or the like.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

I bought hornady directly from them a few months before obama was elected. I knew what was coming and got a box of defense ammo for all my pistols (45, 44 mag, 9mm, 40sw, 9 mak, 38 sp, 357, and some others --- it was a large order).

It took some time due to the lack of makarov ammo (they said they only run it twice a year due to low demand, so it took 3 months for my order to come along).

Their service was very good, and helpful. Since then, however, I think they are behind in production due to the shortage and unwilling to sell directly to the public. My understanding is that they will resume direct sales eventually, and they may have already done so --- if you want their ammo, try calling them first and bypassing all these middlemen.

I guess I am going to find out my own opinion af ATG since I recently placed an order. CTD never seems to be true for me I can always find it cheaper than from them.

I wouldn't be angry with CTD for raising ammunition prices during the shortage, because it was a shortage. Supply and demand, if people were willing to pay that price, they have every right to charge that price. I would be more angry at the causing factors of the shortage (ie a certain political party that had a track record for gun / ammo "control" being elected to white house).

I have and will continue to shop from CTD for items when they have the best price. I am not happy that they sell my contact info to the NRA, gentlemen's clubs, etc... But, I think that's a reasonable price to pay for getting a discount on equipment for my hobby. Nothing is ever free.

As to the original poster's comments, I've never done business with ATG so I can't comment on any personal experiences. However, you build a strong business on good CUSTOMER service. If not for customers, you wouldnt be in business. From his posting, it sounds like ATG failed miserably at that and were approaching the defrauding "zone". If they fail enough customers in their service area, they won't be around long. That extra $20 bucks they'd be out shipping back and forth would be cheap in comparison to loosing the OP's (and anyone he sways) future business.

personaly i like CTD, they may not have the best prices on everythig but its still a heck of allot cheaper thans any guns store near me. have you seen the ammo prices at dick's sporting good? they want exactly one arm and one leg for a box of .223rem.

personally i have allot of sites that i shop from for different things, and i find one of the best sites to go is to (Gasp) amazon.com they have everything from magazines to AR15 uppers, the prices look high but with shipping it acturally is cheaper than most other sites. i bought a carbine sized gun case for $30 on amazon while the same type on CTD was $75 and at my LGS is was $90
Amazon.com usually has some great deals. I buy all my diapers there as it's by far the best deal I can find. I've been trolling for a few gun-related items recently.

Agreed!  Cheaper than Dirt are DIRTBAGS.  They are not friends of the gun community but are price-gouging crooks.  What were they getting, $70 for a box of 380 FMJ?  Also, they will sell your personal information.  That is a given.  SCREW CTD!  >:(
I'm glad I know this now. I have bought a few things from them but no ammo...I reloaded most of what I needed during the shortages.

I buy a lot of ammo (2-4K a month, at min). I shoot one of 6 machine guns regularly and have another 40 weapons that don't collect dust. I shoot a lot and shoot often.

I have bought from ATG but it they really don't have a lot of what I need.

I buy from Palmetto State Armory (PSA) for the most part and they are great. This company has been expanding like crazy and has great deals on mags and other gear now, as well as case deals on new .223, 9mm and .45 that are hard to beat.

Other than that I buy a lot of .308 from Midway as I shoot match .308 often.

Finally, I use a considerable amount of Double Tap. They've got some hot stuff and it's not for every weapon. But their 10mm Eqaulizer with two rounds per cartridge is amazing!

not much experience with ATG. I have used AIM many times and while I hate their Out of Stock, Back in Stock (at a higher price) game, I have found the ammo to be as advertised and without issues.

I've ordered from CTD and ATG as well as 3 or 4 other online ammo vendors. Hard to find certain calibers. You have to do a ton of research to find some in stock, and then find the best price. With one exception (it was neither ATG or CTD) I have not had any problems. Oh, if you ever see a "notify me when this is in stock" option on a page...that really works...I got a good deal on some 380 a while back that way.

after the whole 55.00 per box of 380 ammo, I stay away from Cheaper than Dirt, because they are never cheaper, and their customer service is dirt.

Amen but I have always wanted to visit their retail store in Ft Worth. I know I would end up buying a ton of stuff. I wont order from their catalog and wont pay S&H but they do often have cool stuff that I know I couldnt resist if it was on a shelf in front of me. Maybe its a good thing I never get to Ft Worth other than thru DFW.

As far as my experience with ATG, no problem. I DO think they should have handled the OPs complaint themselves, not hand it over to Hornady, ATG is the retail, direct to the consumer people. I certainly don't understand how/why Hornaday 'handed off' to their sub-contractors, that's BS, Hornady put THEIR name on the ammo, right?!
