Just curious what everyone was paying for their 9mm ammo. Here in eastern NC Federal FMJ value packs of 100 @ wally world costs $19.97. LGS has CD 115 for $21.99 for box of 25:eek:

The cheapest I can find is Monarch for $13 - 50rnds.

Ammo just keeps getting more and more expensive. Would it be cheaper to load my own rounds (not reload)?

While Wal-Mart Federal FMJ 50 round boxes have gone up about a Buck a box, their 100 round Value Paks have stayed at their original $19.97 price.

My trusty Speer 'LE' Gold Dot (50 round box) has jumped $10 though... It went from $25 up to $35... But still not bad for 50 rounds of JHP.

Just found a new LGS today that has PMC for $9.99 per box of 50. I should have bought a few boxes but I have bought 300 rounds in the last couple weeks. Two boxes of Federal Champion (50 rounds) and two boxes of WWB (100 rounds), all from Walmart. I have not been able to find any of the $19.97 100 round boxes of the Federal FMJ at any Walmart I have been in in the last month.

Don't think you'll ever regret buying at a great price.

My local Cabellas has S&B and Magtech for $14.99 for a box of 50. I expect to start reloading once I have a couple hundred cases. (Im at 125 right now, since this is my first 9mm in 20 years).

My reloading costs are as follows.

Lead:

1000 125gr hardcast $70
1000 primers $30
Powder apx 1/2lb $10
Brass FREE

About $110 for 1k lead 9mm rounds

Plated:

1000 Berry's 115gr $85
1000 primers $30
Powder apx 1/2lb $10
Brass FREE

About $125 for 1k plated bullet 9mm rounds

My local Wal*Mart is selling Federal red box 9mm 115gr RN rounds for $10.97 per 50. That's $219.40 per thousand plus tax. Quite a cost savings to reload even an extremely common caliber like 9mm. 9mm brass is everywhere as well. I have never purchased brass. I have scrounged at least 10k 9mm cases over the years.
