So I got my Sub in the "Multi-Mag" model. I have mag latches for S&W M&P and 59 series as well as a latch for the Beretta 92. I have other carbines that use those mags already so I had a good supply.
After some discussion on mags that might work in a Sub I started digging through my boxes and found two new unused 30 round magazines I had picked up eight years ago just before the panic during that election and fear of bans. These mags fit the CZ 75 series of pistols, another favorite firearm of mine. I had never used them as I really don't have much call for a 30 round pistol magazine...they stick way out! I noticed how they were the same general size as the Beretta 92 mags and I was thinking about how Kel-Tec had made the Multi-Mag lower to fit many different magazines. I doubt Kel-Tec will make a CZ 75 latch but I am thinking about writing to them about that as its a very popular pistol line and there are many variations that share the same latch position.
So, not wanting to wait for Kel-Tec to produce said latch I did the next best thing and made the magazine fit a latch they already had. With some precise measurements I proceeded to add a second notch to the CZ magazine and made it fit my Sub with the Beretta 92 latch. I tested it and it functions perfectly in the Sub. Then I thought, WTF, why not make it work in my Beretta CX-4 also. So, a little more work and I added the notch on the top left feed lip that Beretta uses for their LRHO. I even cut the notch in the follower and made it match the Beretta mag.
Today I tested this modified magazine in both the Sub2K Gen 2 and the CX-4 Storm and am happy to report it worked great in both rifles and it even works the bolt hold open in the Beretta. Now I will convert the other mag and have two additional 30 round magazines for both my Sub2k and my CX-4. For a few minutes work and no additional money outlay I have two more nice 30 round mags for my Sub...love it!
I know many of you love Glocks but for me and many others the Multi-Mag grip on the Sub with the various available mag latches opens up a lot of options for us as to mag choices.
