I gave this 870 to my daughter several years ago. For her birthday I asked if she would like it finished in Kansas State colors using Duracoat for her birthday. She was thrilled! This old beast had to have something done as blueing was gone and steel was starting to pit. Here are a few pics I took of the project. This is my first Duracoat project but I have completed several Durabake projects in the past. I am lucky enough to have contact with the 'retired' gunsmith and re-finisher Goldenloki (aka Don) and got a few tips before starting...

(note; I did buy some synthetic Remington stocks to save the good wood stocks)

that looks pretty good! we use cerakote at the shop where I work, how would you compare it to durakote in the durability department?

Thanks ! I have no idea on a comparison as I've never had anything with Cerakote. I tend to like Durabake over Duracoat for ease of use and durability but this project needed specific colors and Duracoat has many.
