That how many were made in 2006.  That's a new high,  around the 40s before that. I think the BATF has restated some of the numbers of previous years.

I'm trying to figure out what .22 pistol they made in 2006.  Whatever it was, they made 5,236 of them.  I think it has to be the PLR-16 and they put it under .22 since there isn't a .223 category.

Manufacturers are listed by the state they are located in.  See the table Pistols Manufactured in 2006

The Michael Bane Downrange TV forum is reporting Ruger has booked 87,000 advance sales for its P3 AT clone.

Obviously the pocket pistol market is smoking hot at the moment.

Since this is not P3AT related, shouldn't it be posted in the OTHER GUNS.   there is a current post related to this

I tend to doubt that number but I'm sure there is great interest.  They really aren't "advance sales" but dealer orders.  They don't have that many on hand of course and it's doubtful they could make that many in one year to sell.

Ruger sold 101,000 autopistols in 2006 to give that figure some perspective.  KT could probably have sold more than 53,000 if they produced more of them in one year but that would be at the expense of some of their other products.
