Maybe someone can help with this:
I visited an uncle in E. TN. and received gift of a case (well, nine & 3/4 boxes) of .380 ACP ammo - factory boxes marked "S&W 84 gr JHP". When I got home I checked around and didn't find anything by S&W on the market. I took it to the range & fired 25 rounds to check it out - no malfunctions of any kind in my P3AT. Anyone know anything about this brand?

I really don't know anything about that brand but I wouldn't worry about it. Ammo is getting hard to find right now so shoot some keep some is a good thought.

.380 has been around for quite some time so it could be really old stock. Heck you may want to toss it on gunbroker. ;)

Just be glad you have 380 ammo at this point!
It's been my nemesis of late.
I have yet to find it in stock ANYWHERE on line or locally.

So I'd hold onto it if you like shooting your 380 guns. :-/

The ammo was made, or at least sold by Smith & Wesson years ago.
S&W bought the Alcan Powder company and sold ammo made by them with the S&W headstamp and boxs. They went out of business 30 or more years ago.

    It is/was very good stuff!

Might even have some collector value.
