It's been tried and determined the recoil impulse was too harsh for the receiver. Kel-tec even went as far as possibly offering a conversion for the Gen 1. But it involved adding a tungsten bolt weight and the kit was as expensive as a new Sub. So the project was dropped.

The point of the .357 sig was to get .357 Magnum Ballistics from a auto-loading pistol, right?

If you have had a look at 9mm Ballistics from a 16" barrel, you may notice that a 9mm already attains the muzzle energy of a .357 Magnum.

Ballistic by the Inch
And the 357 sig beats the 9mm out of a 16" barrel by no small margin. Somebody will build a pcc in 357 sig and sale a lot of them.

Um, you can get 357 sig auto rifles. Mostly in AR platform (a few others, not much), and yes, they have sold a lot of them. You can also get 10mm, which is probably deer capable; they may both be.

I don't know of a fold-up gun in magnum cartridges, though.

A .40 s2k can really make some serious power so try it if a 9mm isn't enough. It can push a 155gr bullet to 1600fps with longshot powder. A 135gr can probably go 200-300fps faster. Better go with a heavy bolt and sumo handle first though.

I don't think I'd be running hot reloads through the 40 sub. If the plain vanilla 357 sig factory loads are beyond its capabilities those hot 40s might tear her up in short order:eek:

I run 180s at 1270, 155s at 1520 with the heavy bolt and handle. Ive had less issues with this setup than with factory ammo and production parts. The key is having the appropriate amount of bolt mass on a blowback weapon. Both of these loads are almost a grain below book maximum and well below .357 SIG (or 9mm +p)pressure levels.
