Thanks for your reply. Those are for function testing. It says that they are not designed to be for dry firing.

You can try the small hollow wall anchors, like for hanging pictures in drywall.

I have heard that the anchors work well for 22 Long Rifle. Do you know if they would work well as 22 magnum snap caps ?

Yes, my PMR will even eject the anchor. You can also see where the firing pin strikes it. You can rotate it if it shows wear.

Just make some from spent cartridges and a wooden dowel. Should be able to make 20 for a buck, not counting the cost of the spent cases. A little glue and sanding.........

If you wanted to get extravagant, for $4.00 you could order a new firing pin and grind the tip off then snap all day on an empty chamber without fear.

I use these. For 5 bucks per 12 it doesn't break the bank. Eventually the rims get chewed up enough that you have to replace them but it's money well spent to be able to function check my stuff after tinkering with it.

Ordered and received The 22 mag. snap caps from Precision Gun Specialties. They cycle through my PMR 30 (Feed and eject) with no problem and are great snap caps too. You get 50 for $19.50. I like them.
