If y'all are looking to utilize a sling with a SU-16 Rifle.... Grovtec (www.grovtec.com) Markets their GTSW-85 Barrel Band Swivel set which fits nicely on the Barrel forward of the Fwd Stock/Bipod. or they also market a smaller version if ya desire to attach the sling closer to the muzzel... Now if only I can discover the size of one of the 20 screws used in the construction of the stock. I will attach a rear located sling attachment... (any suggestions ?)

Take out screw. Go to hardware store. Match threads. Probably metric.
Thanks for link.

GTSW-85 seems far too small for SU-16C, where the barrel diameter to the front of the gas block is 0.621 inch. The description at the site says the maximum is 0.550. Don't try to stretch and hope for the best, it's not going to work. Look at GTSW-301 instead.

The screws on the stock are 8-32's. if you take out the middle rear screw on the butt you can just chase the threads with a 10-32 tap.
All of the threaded Sling Swivel studs on the market (Uncle Mikes etc.) are 10-32 so they will just thread right into the modified hole.
My SU16CA came with the KT M4 fore end and no bipod. I used the pivot hole for the bipod and made a 10-32 threaded bushing that fit the hole to mount the front swivel. See Pics.

The gun hangs perfectly off the side mounted sling and the mags won't jab you in the back when running with the gun on your back. Cross body carry is the way to sling one of these guns.

Thanks! I have been wondering a long time how to attach a sling to my Charlie. Most of my ideas involved drilling holes and paracord. I recently got a Magpul RSA to clamp to the top rail. While this will do for a single-point sling, I also want a forward attach point. A clamp-on-barrel unit like this may have to do.

Before I installed Zhukov, I used the factory sling attachment. It was super annoying because someone at Kel-Tec designed it to rotate upon the attachment axis, but not across like a normal attachment would. As as result, the belt was constantly twisting. Somehow I don't think George himself designed it. :)

Idk if this will help at all, i know ur question was directed to zaitcev but zaitcev & most people attach their slings for the left side like that, since the charging handle is located on the right. And if the rifle were oriented with the sling on the right, that charging handle would be digging into your body while slung.
So long story short, i guess i answered it, the gun is right handed. I'm by no means an expert however
Thank you for your comments! Your observation about the charging handle is spot on for carrying the rifle slung across the back. However, shooting with the sling on is less awkward when the sling is on the same side as the cheek weld. There is no sling looping over the barrel from the weak side for instance. I’m definitely not looking forward to swapping that bipod pin sling mount to the other side. It’s got an AK main spring on it.

Thank you for talking this through with me!

Yeah you really need to get creative with the sling mounts. Its insane how many threads are dedicated to this, for a feature that should be relatively simple. On 1 of those threads i wrote a 3 paragraph rant when one of my mounting attempts failed to meet my expectations. Right now i've settled with a single point sling until the Red Lion forends get restocked & then i'll have the sling mount of my dreams lol.

Besides from the other threads here regarding sling setups, i found some good ideas in the thread that just has photographs of owners SU16s. Perhaps being able to see other setups might give you some different ideas, but it sounds like you've worked it out in your head.
Let us know how it works out!

I've been looking to update my CA to an Echo pistol grip & stock. Do you guys have any suggestions for mounting a sling to that setup?

I ordered the sling kit from KelTec. $16 and it works great. You have to remove the front pivot pin and replace it with the one in the kit.

I suck at putting pictures in this forum! My bad I am old and dont like smart phones. The Kel-Tec part is #901. There are youtube videos on how to attach it. First remove the forend and install new pivot pin. This is a pain to do, but I did it after some swear words. The new pin is threaded on one side, that is where you attach the sling swivel with a washer and screw which is provided. The butt stock attachment is easy, just pick a screw where you want it to be installed and remove it. Replace with a swivel spacer, 2 washers, the sling swivel, and a #8-32 x 1" screw, which is also provided. It took me about 1 hour total.
