That is the best thread title I could think of just now. Following is a quote from my Australian Email contact. The part about brainwashing the kids strikes home.

JACK YOU CANT EVEN GET OUT OF A VEHICLE TO TAKE A GUN TO THE GUN SHOP WITHOUT SOME STUPID BLOODY FEMALE SCREAMING OH MY GOD HE HAS GOT A GUN AND FRANTICLY TRYING TO CALL THE POLICE – MATE YOU HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO TO CATCH UP WITH THE BRAIN WASHING AND PARANOIA THAT GOES ON HERE ABOUT GUN OWNERSHIP MAN YOU HAVNT EVEN STARTED DOWN THE PARANOIA TRAIL OVER YOUR WAY YET ALL KIDS ARE BRAIN WASHED FROM KINDERGARTEN UPWARDS TO THE EVILS OF OWNING A GUN –MATE THE BEST OF LUCK HANGING ON TO WHAT YOU HAVE --

18 year olds can't handle it. They are just too snowflaked to deal with anything. I think the new normal will be about 35, which is the center of the bell curve for when the current children finally leave home and consider getting a job or doing something away from momma. I mean, just look at the behavior and mentality of the florida 'victims' (none of whom were actually shot). They have the mental maturity of 4 year olds.

I've kept in contact with an Aussie firefighter for over 25 years and we always went back and forth about USA and Aussie firefighting, etc. We never spoke about firearms because frankly I just got back into them when I retired a few years back. The last email contained a query on my part on firearms Down Under and I told him about concealed carrying and going to the range, etc. That email has gone unanswered for several months. We never really discussed politics but I suppose from the lack of an answer I can take a guess. So I can understand what JR has related in his post.

I have a couple of Aussie friends, at least one of which is a shooter. If you'd like, I can invite them here to give you their take on it.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

Thanks for the invite, Kirk. Happy to contribute, disagreement isn't disrespect, eh?
Is the OP right?

Hey guys. Kirk's got a good place to start. I'm mainly interested in a first hand account of how things truly are down under (gun related), and how they got that way. I'm also interested in an Aussie opinion on how that compares to what we are seeing here.
