I picked mine up today at my lgs. They where having their fall sale. I paid $379 for it and ran 4 mags through it. It ran flawlessly. I was out sighting in a bunch of other guns but I plan on taking it out again in a few days. I also got the top mount so I might try one of my micro RD on it. Very happy to have gotten this pistol.
Took my new pmr30 to the range tonight. It would fire 5 rounds and then mafunction. Followed the load mag procedure. Was getting fire pin strikes on the very edge of the rim. I guess i'll send it to Kel-Tec . I'm not a gunsmith, not looking to perform an "at home" repair. First time I had a problem with a new gun.
The cases from my PMR-30 look similar. Isn't this where a rim fire firing pin is supposed to hit to get the most reliable ignition of the priming compound?
I agree with @moona11, Fiocchi ammo does not perform well in the PMR/CMR, along with Aguila or Armscor. I haven't heard of many people having trouble when they use the recommended ammo.
Hope this helps and enjoy your mini flamethrower!
My wife really likes it also. I ended up getting a mag loader. Those mags are a pain to load. Also now have 7 mags total that should be enough for now.
I got mine over a year ago when they were hard to find. Piece of junk that I paid $499 for. Over 500 rounds, still FTF's and slide locking open with rounds still in the magazine, have lost two slide stop buttons. It is totally unreliable. Now I can't get Keltec to respond to my "ticket" number 9794. I would try to sell it, but I wouldn't want someone else to have to deal with it. Maybe they will finally respond and do something to fix it. I'm not holding my breath.
It took a couple weeks, but I did get a response. Now awaiting the arrival of a shipping label to get it sent in. Once it comes back I can only hope it performs as well as I think it should.
man i want a PMR so bad..... love to keep it in the truck, but of course bring it in at night... never know what can happen out there in these volatile times...better prepared than not
Hope it works great for you. And use the recommended ammo. It seems to make the difference.
