Default PLR-16 Carrying Cases $15-$150

I’m shopping for a carrying case for my PLR. Your basic black canvas bag with handles and paintball logo starts at $15 shipped free to my local Wal-Mart. They offer little pistol protecting, except from dust but do keep the neighbors from reporting a Terrorist to the police.

The next things I find are hard-sided pistol cases for six pistols starting about $90 up to $150 plus some heavy shipping charges. They are polymer or aluminum with some nice foam to prevent damage to my PLR. Sizes vary but anything with interior dimensions of 21X12X5 looks like it should work. I just wish they weren’t so expensive.

Has anyone found a hard-sided case in the $50-60 price range that would do the job? I don’t wish to plead pauper but I do need to save back a few dollars for a PF-9

Wilson – who’s patiently waiting for the range to dry, so he can play with his new toy :'(

Ok, after much weeping and gnashing of teeth, the wife does 5 minutes of searching to come across a gun case in the ballpark, that I had over looked. Is anyone familiar with ADG Silverside Multiple Handgun & Accessory Case at http://www.exploreproducts.com/adgsports-silverside-multiplehandgun-guncase.htm $58.

Mr. Wilson, that looks like a winner to me also.

I have a variety of 'containers' I am still experimenting with.
To have the weapon in my truck on the seat next to me or in the floor, I use an old vinyl, black gym bag. Pretty undesirable to a thief. It has pockets on each end that I have mags in and pocket on the front that I put spare batteries in.
Another version is my trusty briefcase. Yes, an executive's briefcase. It fits perfectly and you could tote that about anywhere without notice.
Yet another variation is a canvas pouch type zipper bag that collapses around the PLR so I can put it into the sissy-bar bag on my motorcycle.

Anybody else have special means of toting their PLR? :

I looked around my house and found a nylon bag that is for one of those folding kids camping chairs. It is red, yellow and blue. It looks like something a little kid would have. It has a sling on it so you can throw it over your shoulder as well. The PLR will fit in there with a scope, but its tight. You could carry it around town with you in plain sight and no one would suspect a gun. I dont do this, but I have used it to carry it from the house to the car and back so as not to alarm the neighbors. ;D

Edit to add: Great find Mrs. Wilson. BTW, what do they charge for shipping? I would like to get one of those. 8)

Wilson,

That is the same brand of case that I have for my SU. You will love it, it is very rigid for a polycarbonate case. It is sealed around the perimeter with a o-ring, has locks and good quality foam padding. Here is a picture of my "Charlie" inside my case.

I think you will like it. I paid $60 for mine and it's a shotgun takedown case.

I got a great case for my PLR on ebay for $50. It was $25+$25 shipping. The vendor is expressmall and I think has an ebay store. It is 25x12x5 which gives enough length to hold the flash hidder/muzzle brake when added. It is aluminum and foam.

Bam_Bam and Kt4me, those are some good looking cases. Thanks for the pictures. Maybe the carrying case dilemma isn’t as great as I had thought :

Kel-Tec does have a PLR soft case in the works. We are waiting on the first shipment, it should be here the first week of april.

I was authorized by the boss to show you. It is similar to the SU-16 soft case but better. It has straps for 2 magazines, double zipper pulls and can fit the PLR with Muzzle brake AND scope AND 30 rnd mag. A larger red dot should also fit but then the 30 rnd mag in the PLR may stick out too far. Price will be $25 i believe.

closed dimensions are 22" * 12" * 4" thick with the load shown above

Ktwm, thank the Boss Man for the advance viewing. It’s great to have a soft case thrown into the mix. Will there be any Velcro straps in the final product to keep the PLR in place while carried?

Wilson – who’s already saving for the hard chrome model
