Very interesting. Is the receptacle for the QD metal? I made something similar but the bolt I used is a smaller diameter than the take down pin.

Yeah. It's actually all aluminum with the exception of the hex head screw. I just figured since my bud hooked this up for me I'd take the time to cerakote it myself. BTW.... Nicely done yourself there sir! Do you understand what the gentleman (last quote from your above thread) was saying about running a loop through......? Sounds interesting but I can't quite grasp what he means.

My only concern would be that there's a lot of protruding "stuff" close to the shooter's face. Have you had a chance to fire your KSG with that set up?

Look into the slings produced by cobray for the Mac's , wide nylon shoulder strap. Nylon velcro set up for rear sling attach with collar/d ring to the SHORT sling itself, Ill try and pull a link or pic....

apologies in advance for GB link just used for reference. Wide straps help tote the weight w/o issue. NOTE havent ran this set up yet, BUT see no reason it will not work. use often with M10's etc....

Hey 24861 - where did you get a desert tan model KSG - is that retail as they did say they plan tan and green? or is that your own coloring job?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Then again...... telling you that my 9 yr old daughter is busy on the metal lathe turning out the single mount points for the ksg's (of course this is after she gets home at 3 o'clock from 3rd grade) would win anyone's vote of confidence compared to kel tecs manner of bringing ANYTHING to market in a timely manner. :-) Bet none of you knew she (my 9 yr old) is Kel tecs sole supplier of all their inventory.

Anyways..... that is a custom cerakote job I decided to throw on after my buddy brought over that QD mount. Kinda fell for the fde flavor after seeing the one at the 2012 shot show. But it turned out pretty I thought. :-)

I liked it so much that I did the same thing.

Here's my build list:
2" stainless hex cap bolt - local ACE hardware
.25" stainless tube stock - ACE, cut to length, used as a sleeve/bushing for proper front takedown hole alignment
Locktite blue - ACE
Magpul UBR QD nut - Brownells
QD sling loop - Brownells

Total project cost: ~$20
