Default safe to dry fire?

guess the topic says it all. Is it safe to dry fire the SU-16?

If this was a paintball marker I'd say yes (rubber o-rings) but I cant see where you're/we're prematurely wearing any components. so I'd say its fine, but bow to the wisdom of more exerienced shooters

I use snap caps or old brass. I have "dry fired" my rifle, but it's not a habit I want to start. I don't ever plan on my rifle NOT firing for any reason and I'm not gonna give it one.

occasional dry-firing is safe, the worst you would do is break the firing pin, probably only after many hours of dry-firing (so don't spend hours doing it).
