Default Sub 2000 Gen 2 Front Sight Pin

Has anyone replaced the front sight pin on the Gen2 Sub 2K with a fiber optic or tritium pin?

Did you use a standard AR-15 pin? Was any modification needed?

Yep. Standard AR post. No mods needed. Mine is white stripe and tritium. For my blurry up close vision it makes it much easier to find the front sight.

That one is from XS Sight Systems (the Big Dot people). Got it on Amazon.

I'm considering putting one of the chevron front posts on from Blitzkrieg.

It might trade off a little bit in precision, but using a 6 o'clock hold it should still work pretty good within the reasonable range for a 9mm carbine.

Upinthetrees, that's an interesting sight. I might try one of those.

I put that exact sight on my Gen2 Sub2K. I could not see the stock black post front sight against a black bullseye at the range. I got the yellow chevron with the tritium dot. Mounting is a little tricky - watch the spring underneath the sight. It wants to leave and start a solo career. Also the Blitzkrieg has to go a full rotation to present the correct side to the shooter. After a slight adjustment up in elevation I was consistently in the 10-ring.

Sight post is standard AR, I replaced mine with KNS crosshair sight.
Zeroed in at 25 yards it does sit about as low as it can go.
I like that Blizkrieg sight, saw another review on it and may try one on one of my ARs.
